Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP)
Heinz Engineering utilizes a custom ERP system to document, from end-to-end, all related job data. Information is organized and made readily available to manage all company activities and to produce reports in virtually any given area, such as backlog, delivery, corrective action, customer and vendor returns, planning and so forth.
The ERP system significantly improves our ability to control all critical areas of manufacturing while providing real-time data of our performance in order to base our continuous improvement efforts.
Continuous Improvement Philosophy
Our quality procedures are in a constant state of improvement. Our management is encouraged to perfect systems and eliminate any margin for error while maximizing the efficiency of our processes.
ITAR Compliance
Quality Systems
•ISO 9001:2000 / AS 9100 QMS
•NHB-5300.4-1C, Para - 1C200, 1C303, 1C304, 1C305, 1C309, 1C310.4 (Inspection)

Contract Review
Our quality starts with a thorough review of the contract and a complete evaluation of the job at hand.
Planning
We collaborate our team’s knowledge to create a “best” method for completing your job accurately and on time.
Inspections
Every operation, from material receiving to final deburring, undergoes a 1st article inspection prior to release. In-process inspections are performed; and sample and final inspections are completed prior to outside critical processing and final customer shipments to ensure complete part conformity. All inspections are documented.
Tool and Gage Calibration
All tooling is controlled. Our calibrations for hand tools (i.e. micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, etc.) is performed at 6 month intervals and conducted internally. Other equipment calibration (i.e. surface plates, CMM, thread gages and gages blocks) is performed at intervals normal to industry standards and may require outside assistance. Gages are frequently spot checked for accuracy and re-calibrated when needed.
Quality Documentation
Documentation is an important key to our process control. Prior to release, all quality documents are inspected and stamped as approved or not-approved. Certification packages are included with parts at final shipment, as a standard.
Traceability
All products are delivered with complete forward and reverse traceability; and most quality records are maintained for ten years or unless otherwise required by our customer.
Supplier Correct Action Reports (SCAR)
Suppliers are notified of their discrepancies. A Corrective Action Report is completed, in many cases, and the necessary steps are taken to prevent similar discrepancies from recurring.
